Utah Valley University Pedestrain Bridge

Completed: 2021

The Utah Valley University Bridge is an almost 1,000-foot long structure spanning highway I-15 designed to make public transportation more convenient and efficient for university students who commute from Salt Lake City and other northern Utah counties and to help alleviate traffic in the area. The bridge serves as a way for pedestrians to easily access UVU’s main and west campus from the FrontRunner train station across the highway.

Snowmelt :

Thermal Engineering completed the design and installation of the massive snowmelt system on the bridge. The total area of affected snowmelt area totals almost 19,000 square feet. This super-sized system is heating by a 5.4 million BTU boiler. This system ensures this bridge remains ice-free during Utah’s winter months.
